Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has questioned the alleged participation of Jahangir Tareen in the federal cabinet meeting and asked the Prime Minister to explain how he allowed a convicted person to attend the meeting of the constitutional body. "Prime Minister Imran Khan considers himself above the judiciary. In what capacity a convicted person by the apex court in money laundering case was allowed to attend the meeting of constitutional forum? Isn't it a contempt of the court?" asked Marrirum Aurangzeb, the spokesperson for PML-N in a statement.
He said that Prime Minister Khan had promised he would expel Jahangir Tareen from the party if he is punished by the court. "Taking a U-turn, Imran Khan allowed Tareen to attend the cabinet meeting. Imran Khan is in love with 'ATMs' run with laundered money," she maintained.
She also alleged that the agriculture sector is being handed over to Tareen. "In what capacity the agriculture sector is being handed over to a 'money launderer'? This would lead to plundering bread of the small farmers", she further maintained.
She further stated: "After giving an 'NRO' to Aleema Khan, allowing Tareen in cabinet meeting is another 'NRO'. Both the government and NAB [National Accountability Bureau] are silent on the implementation of court verdict with regard to Jahangir Tareen."
The PML-N spokesperson further asked the Prime Minister as to why the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was not ordered to take action against Tareen in the light of the Supreme Court's judgement in his case.
