Speakers in the three-day International Conference said that Pakistan should catch up the new emerging trends in the field of science and technology and this is extremely vital for the progress and economic prosperity of Pakistan and Turkey.
The Pak-Turk International Conference on "Emerging Technologies in the field of Sciences and Engineering" was organized by Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi, Swabi. The three-day conference concluded on Tuesday.
Experts and scholars from diversified fields participated in the conference and expressed their views and spoke on different topics related with engineering education and scientific developments.
Engr Jehangir Bashar, (Rector of GIK Institute) was Chief Guest in the inaugural ceremony. Prof Dr Jameel-Un-Nabi, (Pro-Rector, Academics), Sardar Aminullah Khan (Pro-Rector, Administration and Finance), Faculty Deans, the Dean of Student Affairs, Heads of Departments and academic staff of the various faculties also participated in the conference.
The purpose of the conference was to provide a perfect platform for researchers, academicians and practitioners to become familiar with the latest advancements and technological developments in the various fields of engineering and sciences.
The conference accepted wide range of papers to encourage young and experienced researchers to present their work and also the possibility of initiating mutual collaboration with international repute researchers and entrepreneurs of Pakistan and Turkey.
The prominent Turks and Pakistani scholars and experts who spoke at the conference were: Prof Dr Nihal Buyukcizmeci, Prof Dr Mahmut Böyükata, Dr Ismail H Sarpün, Dr Necla Çakmak, Dr. Canel EKE, Prof Dr Asghar Qadir, Prof Dr Arshad Saleem Bhatti, Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif, Prof Dr Asif Ullah, Dr Mansoor-ur-Rehman, Dr Zohaib Iqbal and various others.
