National Throw Ball Championship begins

National Women and Men Throw Ball Championship got under way with the collaboration of District Govt and Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here at indoor hall of the Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Auditorium University of Peshawar Campus on Tuesday. Nazim Peshawar Muhammad Asim Khan was the chief guest on this occasion who formally inaugurated the Championship in which women and man teams from across Pakistan are taking part.
Member Provincial Assembly Mian Khaliqur Rehman, who is also President KP Throw Ball Association, Maqbool Arayan, Secretary General Asian Throw Ball Federation and Secretary Pakistan Throw Ball Federation, Deputy Registrar University of Peshawar Noorzada Khan, Regional Sports Officer Jamshed Baloch, Secretary KP Throw Ball Association Arshad Hussain, Director General Sports UoP Bahre Karam, District Member Waseem Akram, Miss Raham Bibi, Miss Hajra Sarwar, officials, players and spectators were also present.
Arshad Hussain lauded Nazim Peshawar Muhammad Asim Khan and Director General Sports KP Junaid Khan for extending all out financial support in holding for the first time Throw Ball Men and Women Championships in Peshawar. He said along with the National Championship, a refresher course will also be organized in order to provide much updates rules and regulations to the referees and coaches associated with this Game in Pakistan.
Refresher course and coaching course are part of the Championship in which a record number of participants are taking from across KP. A total of 15 teams comprising Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, team of merger tribal districts, Police, Rangers, City School Bahria, City School Lahore and City School Karachi, Agha Khan Youth Board, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are taking part.
Speaking on this occasion, Nazim Peshawar appreciated KP Throw Ball Association for holding the Championship in Peshawar. He said through this Championship it would give due opportunity to our young players to learn good things from the players of other provinces.
