Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Information, Law and Anticorruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab has strongly condemned baton charge and arrest of peaceful political workers who gathered in Islamabad to express solidarity with their leadership. In a statement on Wednesday, the advisor information said that baton charge on the behest of federal government on peaceful workers by the capital police was unacceptable. He questioned the intentions of federal government behind brutal violence on political workers.
He remarked that PTI government has turned into enemy of peace and added that use of force has refreshed the memories of dictatorship era. He said that followers of dictators were unaware of the basic essence of democracy. Adviser to CM on Information, Law & Anti-corruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that we firmly believed in rule of law and therefore our party leadership decided to appear before NAB to defend references against us. He said that when high leadership of any political party appears before any state institution then it was quite natural that emotions of workers are charged up and it was for administration to manage the situation instead of creating stampede. Barrister Murtaza Wahab further said that Islamabad Police had miserably failed to manage the situation, adding that torturing peaceful protesters was quite undemocratic and uncalled for. He demanded of federal government to immediately release arrested PPP workers.-PR
