Edifiers Youth Network (EYN) has announced to organize a youth festival in the next month in Peshawar to empower the youth by converting the youth bulge into youth dividend. For this end, PYF incorporates the following agenda that includes; awareness and education of youth, accessible employment, financial inclusion and recreational and growth opportunities.
Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, Zainab Azmat, the Provincial Coordinator Edifiers Youth Network said EYN is a network of youth-based and youth-led organizations working towards the positive development of youth into resourceful human capital. The organization aims to engage, empower, connect and educate youth for this purpose.
She further added, Peshawar Youth Festival (PYF) is a project of EYN to empower the youth by converting the youth bulge into youth dividend. The first one is the Youth Sensitization Campaign. This includes formation of youth clubs for students in Higher Educational Institutes. This step will bring forth the best brains of Peshawar to work towards creating a network of empowered youth who will play a significant part in positive transformation of Pakistan.
The second component is Youth Work Exhibition. It will bring together start-ups, projects and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The aim is to create linkages between them and potential donors, sponsors and investors. It will bridge the gap between public and private sector and create a more financially inclusive society by encouraging connectivity and engagement, she explained".
Maleeha Khan, a volunteer highlighted the recreational aspects of PYF that include Peshawar Funfair and Peshawar T10. The former is a family-focused socializing opportunity for residents of Peshawar. It is an inclusive event. The funfair will have stalls allotted to SMEs and individuals dealing with fast moving consumer goods, fashion and apparel, home decor and entertainment including family games, selfie booths and more. It will showcase the work of talented artisans from across Pakistan.
Mohsin Shah, the Project Manager of the event talked about the most thrilling component of PYF that is T10-a cricket tournament based on ten overs. It is the first of its kind sports event in Peshawar. Short in time and full of surprises, the T10 provides an opportunity of enjoyment without compromising the tough schedules of residents of Peshawar and beyond.
