Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Friday said that Nawaz Sharif's kidney disease is at stage-III, but doctors are not allowed to see him. Announcing to stand outside Kot Lakhpat jail until doctors are granted access to treat her father, Maryam said, "Nawaz's kidney disease is at stage three and doctors suspect the pain to be of renal origin."
Maryam, in a Twitter post on Friday said: "Nawaz's Urea & Creatinine levels must be checked. His doctor who I sent to examine MNS was made to wait 2 hrs outside jail, was not allowed in and sent back."
She stated that if Nawaz Sharif's renal functions are not checked for any further deterioration and if she and his doctor are not allowed access to him, she will go and stand outside the jail on Saturday (today) till the access is granted.
Maryam also tweet a picture of the written request sent to the Home Department seeking access to Nawaz's doctor in the jail. "Written request was sent to the Home Department on the 21st March. I am also sending a request in writing again for MNS's doctor to be granted access to him as early as possible," she said.
Nawaz has been in jail since December 2018 following his conviction in Al-Azizia corruption reference in line with the Supreme Court's July 2017 verdict.
In a new request sent to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), MPA Malik Nadeem Kamran, the senior Vice President of PML-N Punjab, stated that denying access to Nawaz Sharif's personal physician and his daughter is denial of his fundamental rights. He requested that Dr Adnan and Maryam Nawaz Sharif should be granted immediate access to Mian Nawaz Sharif on health grounds.
