the SU Department of General History, SU Pakistan Study Centre and Sindh Police Hyderabad Region in collaboration with Bureau of Students' Tutorial, Guidance, Counselling Services and Co-curricular Activities (STAGS), University of Sindh, Jamshoro organised a mega function at Shaikh Ayaz auditorium of faculty of arts building at its main campus at Jamshoro to mark Pakistan Resolution Day.
The celebrations commenced with a rally with 200 meters long flag of Pakistan carried together by the varsity's vice-chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, pro-vice chancellors and focal persons of various SU campuses, deans of faculties, faculty, officers, employees and students of the university from the varsity's zero point, i.e, Allama I.I Kazi round-about to the main entrance gate of the faculty of the arts. The participants of the rally chanted ear-splitting slogans of "What do we mean by Pakistan-La Illah Ilallah" and they also crooned the patriotic lyrics "Dil Dil Pakistan-Jan Jan Pakistan" meaning "Our hearts throb with Pakistan-Our breaths function with Pakistan" while they carried the gigantic flag in the width and breadth of the long sprawling campus roads.
Later, a colorful ceremony with VC-SU Dr Burfat as event President as the chief guest was held at Shaikh Ayaz auditorium. The ceremony featured national-theme skits, rendition of national songs, mili naghmas, and presentation of national anthem on a music band, tri-lingual speeches, national dance performances, drama/theatre and tableaus by students prepared mainly by Bureau of STAGS and partially by SU Dr N A Baloch Model School Hyderabad.
In his remarks, chief guest, Dr Burfat said that the purpose behind celebrating the day was to demonstrate immensity of love people of Sindh and 35,000 students, hundreds of faculty, officers and employees had for their beloved homeland Pakistan. "Today I feel proud to share that Sindh had a vital role in creation of Pakistan as Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah whose efforts won a separate, autonomous and independent motherland for us belonged to Sindh.
