Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi has said that Islam is the religion of peace and Ulema and students of madaris (religious seminaries) are to serve Islam and people for the cause of Allah. "It is an honour for Pakistan that even foreigners belonging to more than 48 countries seek knowledge here at Jamia Binouria," he said, speaking at a ceremony during his visit to seminary, here on Saturday. He noted that ten thousand students, including one thousand girls are getting knowledge of Islam at the seminary.
Afridi said that graduates of seminaries have not been given due status in the state affairs. "Incumbent PTI government intends to run its affairs in accordance with the injunctions of Allah and Prophet of Islam and humanity peace be upon him," he asserted.
The Minister lauded efforts of Pak Army, Rangers and Police in restoring peace in Karachi. He vowed there would be no more terrorism and National Action Plan would be implemented truly. After the visit to Jamia Binouria, he also talked to the media and answering a question Afridi said that politicians allegedly involved in corruption would be dealt with, as per law. "Law will take its course," he said.
