Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary & Secondary Education Department (E&SED) with the support of Department for International Development (DFID) released District Performance Scorecard (DPS) for February 2019 in which Torghar and Buner stood 1st and 2nd, respectively ,followed by Karak, Peshawar and Swabi.
District Performance Scorecards (DPS) is aimed at improving performance of District Education Offices (DEOs) through better governance and data utilisation. It tracks the implementation of district education plans, fosters inter/intra district learning and encourages the best practices. Data for DPS is obtained from credible sources such as BISE, IMU, PITE, SQMI, OAMIS and PIFRA.
The overall performance on key education indicators was satisfactory. Boys' schools in Buner were able to achieve the student attendance rate target.
Districts Haripur, Tank and Shangla were able to improve student enrolment as compared to previous month. As many as 81 percent of online action management cases have been closed in KP's districts Chitral (male office) Dir Lower (male office) and Haripur (female office). Torghar was able to achieve the non-teaching staff attendance target. Peshawar and Karak have achieved the set targets regarding availability of basic facilities by 93 percent and 73pc of schools, respectively.
Overall participation rate of induction programme and professional development days is 86pc. Peshawar, D.I Khan, Haripur and Bannu were able to complete cent percent visits for school quality management initiative. Functionality of biometric devices was introduced as an indicator for the first time in DPS and 100pc of such devices in Shangla and Kohistan were functional. Indicator specific issues were discussed in detail to further improve the performance on each indicator.
