Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday fixed the hearing of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) plea against the verdict of Sindh High Court (SHC) for regularization of its 179 contractual employees for next week. At Karachi Registry, a two member bench of SHC comprising Justice Maqbool Baqir and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah ordered for clubbing of all applications related to contractual employees to hear them on Monday.
SSGCL challenged the verdict of SHC for ordering regularization of 179 employees, who worked in it from 1992 to 2012 and later they filed a petition for regularization of their services in high court.
On 16 May 2018, SHC gave verdict in favour of contractual employees for regularization of their services. These employees in grade 15 and below hail from Sindh and Balochistan.
