05 Apr, 2019

Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that in the party promising to build Pakistan on the model of the Madina state was moving in the opposite direction. He was addressing the Pakistani community in Madina.
Sirajul Haq said that building a Madina like state implied reducing the problems of the citizens, lifting the oppressed sections of the society and freeing human being from the slavery of other fellow being. However, he said, the PTI government during its eight months rule, had been heading in the opposite direction. He said the government had raised the prices of POL, gas and electricity to the extent that the general public was left with nothing after paying the utilities bills. He said that the government policies had made life miserable. During the last eight months, the government had neither been able to catch tax thieves nor had evolved a proper system for tax collection.
He said the PTI leadership had promised to chase the corrupt elements and recover the public money from them but the people were still waiting for that good news,
Siraj said the only way out with the government was to get hold of the plunderers and retrieve their ill gotten wealth lying in foreign countries. He said that the loan secured on the IMF terms would not help improve the country's economy and the government would have to secure more loans to pay off interest. The JI chief said the interest based economic system was the main cause of economic crisis but the rulers were not prepared to abandon it and introduce the interest free system of Islam.
