A French delegation of 23 companies active in various sectors has arrived on a four-day visit to the country to explore the opportunities for investment in various sectors. The delegation headed by Thierry Pflimlin, Chairman of the France-Pakistan Business Council of MEDEF International and President of Total Global Services, comprises 30-members who will be visiting Pakistan from April 08 to 11.
Speaking to media at the residence of French Ambassador Marc Barety, the head of the delegation Thierry Pflimlin said that they will be visiting Lahore today (Tuesday) and then to Karachi to interact with relevant ministers and businessmen with an aim to explore the opportunities for the French companies to invest in various sectors of the country including agriculture, energy, oil and gas, water supply, manufacturing, banking sector and real estate.
He said that the French companies are interested in the country's initiative of ease of doing business, adding that they had very fruitful meetings with President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan. The visit is jointly organised by the MEDEF International, the Embassy of France in Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan in France and the Board of Investment.
During its stay, the delegation will have meetings with Pakistani authorities as well as representatives of the private sector to better assess opportunities offered by the Pakistani market. B2B meetings and networking events with the Pakistani Business community will also be organised during the four days visit that will certainly contribute to the development of economic relations between France and Pakistan, said the head of the delegation.
