Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has joined the race to introduce a foldable phone, and instead of a single fold, the firm unveiled a double-folding phone, ahead of Samsung’s.
Where Samsung revealed a prototype of its foldable device last year, Xiaomi recently tweeted a teaser video on Chinese site Weibo of what it calls the ‘world’s first ever double foldable phone’.
Xiaomi might be working on triple-panel foldable smartphone
The video shows the company’s president and co-founder Bin Lin holding a tablet-sized smartphone with a central panel and two folding panels off to the side. Both the sides can be folded backwards to convert the tablet into a smartphone.
This feature distinguishes Xiaomi from other including Samsung and Royole whose phones fold in the middle. However, this phone is also a prototype of the device, as per Business Insider.
