The currencies of Sweden and Norway are expected to gain on the euro and dollar in the next 12 months, a Reuters poll found on Friday, although the short-term outlook was less favourable than it was in a similar survey a month ago.
Sweden's crown is forecast to reach 10.1284 against the euro a year from now, in line with the 10.1250 predicted last month. Expectations for gains over the first several months were paired back, though. Forecasts are for 10.40 per euro in three months, against 10.3150 predicted a month ago.
The trend is similar for Norway, where the biggest gains are also now predicted to come towards the end of the 12 months. Both the Swedish and Norwegian crowns underperformed expectations in 2018, weakening against the bigger global currencies, after analysts predicted a year ago they would rise.
