The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday launched an interest free loan scheme 'Insaf Rozgar Scheme', meant to eliminate unemployment among terrorism and poverty stricken people of newly merged tribal districts and erstwhile frontier regions during his visit to Mohmand tribal district.
He also distributed Insaf Health Cards amongst tribesmen on the occasion.
The Chief Minister Mahmood Khan chaired maiden provincial cabinet meeting in the tribal district, which was attended by Provincial Ministers Shahram Tarakai, Atif Khan, Shaukat Yousafzai, Abdul Karim, Qalandal Lodhi, Mohib Ullah, Akbar Ayub, Ajmal Wazir, Member National Assembly Sajid Khan Mohmand, Chief Secretary Salim Khan, Commissioner Peshawar Amjad Ali Khan and others officials.
The cabinet discussed various items including review of FATA merger with particular reference to levies induction issues, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (Amendment) bill, 2018, amendments in the existing services rules of the provincial ombudsman secretariat, approval of vested draft rules framed under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Scholarship Fund Act,2014, provision of fund through supplementary grant to Pak-Austria FACHHOCHSCHULE: Institute of Applied Science and Technology and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Control of Narcotics Substance Act, 2015.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mehmood Khan.
Talking to the media, Adviser to CM for Merged Areas Ajmal Khan Wazir and Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai told that it was discussed in the meeting that the provincial cabinet passed the law regarding complete prevention of (ice) a type of drug. They informed that there will be seven years imprisonment and 3 lack fines for having 100 gram ice while on 1 Kg ice there will be life imprisonment and fine of Rs 1.4 million.
Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai told that for complete prevention of ice drug, a comprehensive awareness campaign would be launched in the educational institutions in the entire province. "The province will be eradicated of ice, while seller, ice addicted will be in the hands of law," Yousafzai told.
Shaukat Yousafzai said that amendments in the existing services rules of the Provincial Ombudsman Secretariat were also discussed. He said Local Government bill has been ready and will be final in the next special cabinet meeting.
Addressing on the occasion Adviser to CM on Merged Areas Ajmal Wazir told that 28000 Khassadar and Levies forces has been merged now into the KP police and for the purpose at least funds of Rs400 million were approved. He told that Rs142.4 million funds were approved for the supplementary grant to Pak-Austria Institute of Applied Science and Technology.
Ajmal Wazir told that now Khassadar have been merged into Police and funds have been released and the entire infrastructure will be completed within 6 months.
Ajmal Khan told that CM also inaugurated Insaf Rozgar Schemes and Sehat Card schemes in the tribal district. After the cabinet meeting Chief Minster Mehmood Khan addressed the public gathering at Capt Rohullah Shaheed Sports Stadium Ghalanai.
MNA Sajid Khan Mohmand welcomed the chief minster and others ministers to the tribal district Mohmand he presented some demands regarding the area.
The MNA demanded the opening of the only trade Gursal route with Afghanistan which has been closed down from the last 8 years. MNA also demand the permanent solution of the drinking water problem of the Haleemzai, Khwezai and Biazai tehsils of the tribal region. He also demanded for a university campus in the area and that only locals should be inducted in the Mohmand Dam Project. He also demanded irrigation schemes from Mohmand Dam for the Pandiali and Ambar tehsils of the tribal region.
Chief Minster Mehmood Khan assured the tribesmen that he will try his best to resolve the issues. He said Prime Minster Imran will also visit the area and he will resolve the problems of the area. He also examined the construction work of Gandao Small Dam where the officials briefed him on the overall details of the small dam.
During briefing CM was informed that the total cost of the dam is 449 million while 72 percent construction work has been completed till now.
