Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information & Archives, Law, and Anti-Corruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Sunday, on behalf of the Sindh government and Pakistan People's Party, felicitated the members of Christian community on the their religious festival of Easter.
In his message Barrister Murtaza Wahab wished all Christian citizens happy Easter. The Adviser said that the Christian community all over the country especially in Sindh celebrates one of their most important festivals with complete religious freedom. He said that the members of the Christian community had always contributed to prosperity, development and welfare of the country with utmost zeal.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that vision of the founder of Pakistan about ensuring the religious freedom of the minorities in the country was given protection by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto through the constitution of 1973.
He said that the constitution of Pakistan guaranteed equal rights and complete safety and security to all minorities. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the members of the minority communities were free to practice their faith without any fear in the province.
The Adviser said that the provincial government had taken concrete steps to ensure the protection of basic rights of the minorities. The welfare and the prosperity of the people of the minorities in the province was also the priority of the Sindh government, he added. He said that we were with our brothers and sisters of Christian community on the auspicious event of Easter.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab also on behalf of the Sindh government strongly condemned the cowardly attacks on Churches in Sri Lanka. The Adviser said that the acts of violence against Churches in Sri Lanka were truly appalling.
He expressed his sympathies to all those affected in the brutal attacks. He mourned them and prayed for the injured and their families. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that there was no religious scripture that didn't condemned terrorism.-PR
