KP Minister for Information Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has hinted at changes in provincial cabinet within eight to ten days, saying that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has full confidence in the chief minister. Talking to reporters here on Thursday, the provincial minister said that Mehmood Khan is not powerless chief minister. He said that only hard workers will be able to maintain their place in the cabinet.
He said that changes in the provincial cabinet could be made within ten days. He said that whoever was not performing, he would not remain in the provincial cabinet. Shaukat Yousafzai rejected reports about rift in the government and said that the chief minister Mehmood Khan was a devoted and hardworking chief minister. He said that the chief minister had played important role in mainstreaming of the tribal districts.
The minister said that KP government under the leadership of Mahmood Khan was successfully pursuing policies to achieve socio-economic development of the province. "Mahmood Khan who is an honest and hardworking person, is a powerful chief minister who takes decisions independently and has put the province on the path of development," the minister told media while referring to media propaganda about difference within the government.
He further said that CM Mahmood Khan had authority to take all the decisions and that he had resolved FATA merger issue with political wisdom. Prime Minister Imran Khan still believes in Mahmood Khan, the minister said. He said the CM was focusing on the development of the province. He said there was no truth in media reports which revealed differences within the government.
Sources said that the changes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet will take place after completion of four-day China visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan. They added that four new assistants and advisors are likely to be included in the provincial cabinet.
