The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on occasion of Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA), devotees from all over the country as well as abroad come here that's why Sindh government tried to provide maximum facilities to the visitors. He was talking to the media after laying a floral wreath on the mazar of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) on concluding day of 3-day annual Urs celebrations at Sehwan Sharif on Friday.
Replying a question regarding presidential system, he said it was just a rumour even President Arif Alvi has ruled out any possibility regarding the roll back of 18th Amendment and presidential system. He further said the PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and almost every citizen of Pakistan support democratic system except few people who always try hatching conspiracies to derail the democratic system for their personal gains.
Regarding the development work in Sehwan, CM told that not only Sehwan but not any new development scheme had been started in the province and the country yet and added we are utilizing available funds to complete on-going development schemes. He said other provinces do not talk about their financial grievances for different reasons but unlike other provinces, Sindh always dare to raise the voice for the rights of its people thus whenever we voice for our due share of NFC Award they (Federal government) start questioning our performance.
The Chief Minister said the Sindh had received Rs120 billion less from its share in NFC Award and also received Rs11 billion less of Federal Government schemes as Rs15 billion were announced by the federal government for development schemes in Sindh. He said due to shortage of funds development schemes were affected and he will raise this issue in detail on the floor of the house.
Replying a question he informed that last year Rs 204 billion were spent on development and it was the first time that more than Rs200 billion were spent on development schemes in Sindh. He further informed that Rs75 to 80 billion had been spent on development this year and added that he was even not anticipating that Rs100 billion would be spent on development.
He asked the people who think that Sindh Government was not capable to utilize funds than how Rs204 billion were spent on development last year. He said we wish that federal government correct its direction and present people-welfare budget and added that if we would give advice to the Federal Government they would say that we are asking for NRO. He said that we don't need NRO and you (Federal Government) do whatever you want with us but care about the people.
Replying a question about procurement of wheat, the CM Sindh said there were few reasons of not procuring wheat while last year's stock of wheat is still available. He said every year subsidy was given for the procurement of wheat but this year Sindh Government due to shortage of funds could not give subsidy.
To another question, he said Sindh was the only province where multinational organizations were working on investment effectively and different projects were going on in Sindh including Karachi by the World Bank. Replying another question, he said that the salaries of Sindh Police were higher than the police of other provinces.
Replying a question regarding abusive language used by Prime Minister Imran Khan against PPP leadership, he said Imran Khan had not learned the art of apologizing and added that he don't think that the Federal Government would last long.
