The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has released Rs 536.6 billion (79.5 percent) including Rs 174.6 billion foreign aid for different development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 675 billion.
According to the latest data of PSDP 2018-19 released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, the government released Rs 210.65 billion (72.2 percent) including Rs 27.03 billion foreign aid for development projects of various ministries, divisions and related departments out of Rs 291.55 billion budgeted allocation.
The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform released a total of Rs 208.84 billion for various development projects of the National Highway Authority (NHA), including Rs 133.26 billion foreign aid, out of Rs 185.2 billion budgeted allocation, as the NHA was released Rs 23.64 billion more than the budgeted allocation. An amount of Rs 23.2 billion out of Rs 28.065 billion budgeted allocation was released for development projects of Pakistan Railways.
Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission received Rs 26.27 billion (98.4 percent) out of Rs 26.7 billion budgeted allocation for development projects.
The government released Rs 54 billion (69.4 percent) including Rs 8.6 billion foreign aid out of Rs 78 billion for development projects and schemes of Water Resources Division.
The PTI government released a total of Rs 18.5 billion (59.8 percent) including Rs 88.6 million foreign aid out of Rs 30.96 billion budgeted allocation for Higher Education Commission, Rs 7.9 billion were released for the Interior Division, Rs 10.13 billion for Communication Division (other than NHA) and Rs 2.28 billion for Federal Education and Professional Training Division.
The government released Rs 2.74 billion out of Rs 12.78 billion budgeted allocation for the development projects of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division, Rs 4.07 billion for Planning, Development and Reform and Rs 15.26 million for Textile Division. The government released Rs 2.1 billion for Defence Production Division and Rs 15.6 billion including Rs 14.2 billion foreign aid for development projects of Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).
The government released Rs 407.3 million for the Cabinet Division against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 1 billion. An amount of Rs 1 billion was released for the Aviation Division, Rs 700 million for Climate Change, Rs 1.5 billion for Defence Production Division, Rs 1.3 billion for development projects of Maritime Affairs Division, Rs 2.69 billion for development projects of Housing and Works Division and Rs 3 billion have been released for Revenue Division.
The government released Rs 1.214 billion including Rs 344.51 million foreign aid for Information Technology and Telecom Division out of Rs 1.45 billion budgeted allocation, Rs 25.57 billion including Rs 718.67 million foreign aid for States and Frontier Region Division, Rs 11 billion including Rs 10.84 billion foreign aid out of Rs 33.37 billion for development projects of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) and Rs 2.69 billion for the development projects of Housing and Works Division.
The government released Rs 24.12 billion (93.3 percent) including Rs 2.5 billion foreign aid for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 25.86 billion and Rs 13.5 billion (72.88 percent) including Rs 932.9 million foreign aid for development project of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs 17.53 billion budgeted allocation for the current fiscal year 2018-19. The government released Rs 3.51 billion for development projects of Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) out of Rs 6.5 billion budgeted allocation.
The funds are released as per quarterly ceilings; first quarter (July-September) 20 percent, second quarter (October-December) 20 percent, third quarter (January-March) 30 percent and fourth quarter (April-June) 30 percent.
