Over eight cases of various kinds of theft, including robbery and snatching at gunpoint, and nine cases of motor vehicle theft were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, two cases of murder and other two cases of kidnapping were also registered in different police stations in the same period. Most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Sabzi Mandi, Tarnol, Shalimar, Golra and Sihala police stations.
During the aforementioned period, Sabzi Mandi police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. One Waseem Ahmed informed Sabzi Mandi police station that three unknown armed persons snatched cash, ATM cards and mobile phone from him. The auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number LED 2849 of Rizwan Akhtar.
Shalimar police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft during the period. A citizen Razia Riaz informed Shalimar police station that an accused Muhammad Adil snatched Rs18,000 cash from her. The auto thieves stole a bike (ABP-211) of a person namely Danish Hussain. The auto thieves stole a bike (RIK-4594) of one Muhammad Iftikhar and lifted another bike (FKL-2515) from the limits of Tarnol police station. During the aforementioned period, one case each of robbery and murder was reported to Golra police station. One Samia Khan informed Golra police station that an accused Shahrukh along with others stole valuables from her restaurant.
In another incident, one Dervish Khan filed a complaint with Golra police station that a person namely Muhammad Baber killed his brother Muhammad Shehzad.
Sihala police station registered one case each of auto theft and robbery during the aforementioned period. The auto thieves stole a bike of Muhammad Hamad. One Abdul Majeed filed a complaint with Sihala police station that accused Shehzad and Muhammad Kamal snatched Rs100,000 from him at gunpoint. During the last week, Women, Lohi Bher and Karachi Company police stations registered one case each of robbery while Margalla, Ramna, Aabpara and Koral police stations registered one case each of auto theft.
