Brazil's 2018/19 second-corn crop, also known as winter corn, is expected to reach a record this season, as favorable weather over all main producing regions boost agricultural yields, a Reuters poll showed on Friday.
According to the average of 11 forecasters, Brazilian farmers are expected to collect 68.43 million tonnes of winter corn this year, a 27 percent jump from the previous season, which suffered from a drought. If all expectations are confirmed, Brazil's second corn crop will pass the record of 67.4 million tonnes recorded two years ago, the poll showed.
