KPC's life membership for Barrister Sibghatullah

Karachi Press Club (KPC) awarded the life membership to Barrister Sibghatullah Kadri (Queen Council) for his services for the freedom of press, freedom of expression, human rights and civil liberties. The London-based Barrister Kadri also known in overseas Pakistani and Kashmir people for his legal and social support without any discrimination.
Addressing the gathering organized by the KPC at press club Barrister Kadri said that the rule of law, freedom of press and freedom of expression is must in real democracy. He said the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam believed in democratic system and he appointed a Hindu as his cabinet ministers.
He said all communities must have equal rights. Highlighting his student days struggle Kadri said the people were not divided on religion and sectarian bases at that time. He advised the rulers to treat all section of societies on equal bases and ensure the rule of law.
The ex-Supreme Court judge and ex-federal law secretary Justice Agha Rafiq also addressed the function. Karachi Press Club President Imtiaz Khan Faran and Secretary Arman Sabir awarded the life membership papers to Barrister Kadri.-PR
