New software and a related mobile app developed with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will strengthen the maternal and child health sector in Punjab by digitizing the reporting, processing, and archiving of healthcare providers' training records.
At an event launching the new digital system, USAID Project Management Specialist Dr Ismail Virk said he hoped joint US-Pakistan efforts would help achieve the countries' common goal of reducing maternal and child mortality.
Minister of Population Welfare Col Muhammad Hashim Dogar (retd) joined government and private sector representatives at the event, which also included the handover of training equipment to the Punjab Population Welfare Department. He welcomed the introduction of innovative technologies to transform the health sector.
