CDA forms bodies to check violations of building by-laws

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Thursday constituted three separate committees to carry out survey of types of buildings to ascertain building violations within 30 days.
Violations in various types of buildings remained a major issue in the city, but no serious effort was made in the past to eradicate these violations. However, the incumbent management of the authority has decided to bring all types of buildings under building bye-laws. In this connection, authority has decided to carry out detailed survey to ascertain building violations in various types of buildings including government accommodations and office buildings owned by different ministries, departments etc..
In this connection a committee is headed by Director Building Control-II while Director Maintenance, Deputy Director Urban Planning and Representative of Estate Office are its members. The committee will carry out survey to determine the violations that have been carried out by the allottees/occupants of government accommodations.
Similarly, the second committee is headed by Director Building Control-I while Director Urban Planning, Director Estate Management-II and representative of PWD are its members. The committee will carry out survey to determine the violations committed in buildings owned by various ministries, departments etc..
The 3rd committee is headed by Director Building Control-I and comprises Director Sanitation and Director EPC. It will conduct survey regarding illegal sewerage connection of buildings to nullahs.
