The incidents of motor vehicles thefts witnessed an increase in the federal capital as carjackers stole over 12 vehicles, including motor bikes, from various areas of the city during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, robbers struck at five different places during the last week and deprived citizens of valuables. The most "favourite" areas for the criminal elements were within the limits of Industrial Area, Karachi Company and Ramna police stations.
During the aforementioned period, Industrial Area police station registered five cases of car lifting. The auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number ABQ-307 of Hanif Khan, stole another bike bearing registration number KWK-7801 of Amir Iqbal, lifted a car bearing registration number RR-354 of Ijaz Hussain, stole a bike bearing registration number RIR-2826 of Muhammad Tariq, and took away another car bearing registration number W-5617 of Muhammad Ayub.
Karachi Company police station registered two cases of auto theft and one case of robbery during the aforementioned period. The motor vehicle thieves stole a bike bearing registration number AVL-503 of one Riaz Ahmed and lifted a car bearing registration number LED-1677 of Muhammad Tariq. A citizen Zahid Hussain informed Karachi Company police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, cash, prize bonds and an LED from his house.
In the same period, Ramna police station registered two cases of car theft and one case of robbery. One Faisal Saeed informed Ramna police station that three armed persons broke into his shop and looted Rs 60,000 cash.
