Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar has said that socio-economic development of merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is among the top priority areas of the incumbent government.
He underlined that all possible measures will be taken to bring the region at par with other areas of the country. The minister was talking to Dr Shehzad Arbab, Advisor to PM on Establishment Division, who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday, says a press release issued here.
Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan, members Planning Commission and senior officials of the ministry were also present in the meeting. The minister said that formulation of next PSDP was under process and less developed areas will be accorded priority including erstwhile FATA. He said that a number of infrastructure and socio-economic projects will be initiated in the merged districts on demand. Various infrastructure and other projects pertaining to the region came under discussion in the meeting.-PR
