The central Shoora of the Jamaat-e-Islami has strongly condemned New Delhi's decision banning the Jamaat-e-Islami in occupied Kashmir and the confiscation of its assets including the houses of JI leaders and the arrests of Chief of the JI, occupied Kashmir, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz and more than four hundred other workers.
A resolution adopted by the Shoora presided over by the Ameer, JIP, Senator Sirajul Haq, stressed upon the world community and the Human Rights bodies to play their role over the gross violations of human rights in occupied Kashmir. The resolution said that the arrests of the Kashmiri leaders struggling for liberation, under the Public Safety Act and other black laws were most condemnable. It pointed out the lives of Kashmiri leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mir Wayz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik, Aasia Andrabi, Musarrat Alam and Shabbir Shah are in grave danger.
