Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry (HSATI) has expressed grave concerns over unannounced gas load management as well as supply of low pressure gas in the industrial areas. It appealed to the high ups of the government to take serious notice of the affair and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to industrial units.
In a joint statement on Friday, the chairman HSATI Muhammad Shahid Qaim-khani, ex-chairman Aamir Shahab and convener HSATI sub-committee on SSGC Dileep Kumar said that low pressure supply of gas is causing severe damage to costly machinery of the industrial units while unannounced load management of gas results in halting of industrial production for several hours incurring huge financial losses to industrialists. They said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan fully desires the enhancement of exports of local manufacturing and products but prevailing condition created by Sui Southern Gas Company Limited is the main hurdle in achieving export targets of the current year.
They said industrial sector plays vital role in bringing improvement in the economy of the country and contributes huge amount to national exchequer in shape of taxes therefore this sector fully deserved to receive incentives. The gas is being used as raw material in the industries and majority of industries are fully dependent on gas for manufacturing of products, they said and appealed to the high ups of the government including the concerned ministry and authorities of SSGC to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to industrial areas so that the industrialists could achieve their export targets well in time and pool due share to national exchequer.
