The Utility Stores Union observed shutter-down strike over the arrest of its Chairman Arif Shah. The employees of the Corporation shut down utility stores in the city to lodge their protest against the arrest of their chairman. The consumers were badly affected due to situation arising out of shutter down by the staff of utility stores.
The Union Chairman had unveiled the story about unavailability of many goods on utility stores after which ministers canceled their visit. The Pakistan Utility Stores Association said police are not providing any information regarding arrest of Arif Shah. The workers of association demanded release of Arif Shah and threatened to close all utility stores around the country if Shah is not released.
Meanwhile, citizens also faced trouble in purchase of vegetables and other essentials of Ramadan from the Ramadan Bazaars as the district administration has restricted purchase of various items including sugar , tomatoes and lemons.
