Snatching, carjacking cases on the rise in Capital

Armed robbers, dacoits and snatchers struck at nine different places during the last week in the city depriving citizens of cash and valuables. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, nine cases of various kinds of theft, six cases of car lifting and one case of abduction were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week. The most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Industrial Area and Golra police stations.
During the aforementioned period, Industrial Area police station registered three cases each of auto theft and one of robbery. One victim Ali Raza informed Industrial Area police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from his house.
The auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number WT-995 of one Muhammad Adnan Ullah, lifted a bike bearing registration number RIM-7529 of Zeryab Ali, and stole another bike bearing registration number GTK-8105 of Zafar Iqbal from the limits of Industrial Area police station.
Armed robbers looted Rs 19,544,938 from a private bank in the limits of Golra police station after they held the bank guard hostage at gunpoint. One citizen Muhammad Ghyas informed Shehzad Town police station that three armed people stormed into his house and snatched cash and a mobile phone at gunpoint.
In another incident, one Naimat Hussain filed a complaint with Bani Gala police station that unidentified robbers broke locks of his house and stole cash and gold ornaments.
