The KP Food Authority (KPFA) on Sunday sealed two factories and disposed of 2,000 kilograms of frozen chicken in Peshawar. The factories were making substandard lollipops and vermicelli. They were also preparing this food in unhygienic conditions. The frozen chicken was kept in a container with no proper temperature control system, according to the authority.
Director General KPFA Riaz Khan Mehsud while talking to the media said that the authority had so far sealed more than 12 production units due to floating food safety rules since beginning of the holy month of Ramazan.
Following the directive of the chief minister, the official said that the checking of meat and milk is being carried out on daily basis. He said that around one lakh litres milk have examined during first week of the Ramazan.
