Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday ordered Sindh Advocate General to give his arguments on a petition related to joint investigation team (JIT) reports of Uzair Baloch, the gangster of Lyari gang and Baldia Town Factory fire tragedy.
A division bench of SHC headed by Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro issued the orders to Advocate General Sindh to present his arguments till August 05, 2019 after the counsel for the petitioner concluded his arguments.
Ali Zaidi, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Federal Minister Maritime Affairs petitioned for JIT reports of Baldia Town factory tragedy, Uzair Baloch and Nisar Morai, the former Chairman of Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) to be made public.
Petitioner Ali Zaidi submitted in the court that JIT reports of Baldia Town Factory, Uzair Baloch and Nisar Morai have been concealed from the public.
Petitioner stated that Baldia Town factory incident claimed more than 250 lives, however the JIT formed to probe it has not been made public as well as JIT reports of Nisar Morai and Uzair Baloch have not been made public officially.
Ali Zaidi submitted before that court that Nisar Morai disclosed the name of a prominent politician in the murder of seven persons during the investigation, so the JIT report should be made public as it is the fundamental right of being a citizen to know about the contents of JIT.
