Chairman Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PSGMEA) Ch. Muhammad Arshad has said that ultra modern "Embroidery and Printing" machine costing Rs 5.82 crore would be operational shortly. Talking to Business Recorder on Wednesday he disclosed that government had released the funds for this machine out Export Development Fund (EDF) to facilitate the business community engaged with Sports Goods industry of Sialkot. Highlighting the salient features of Embroidery and Printing machine he said that this is electronic multi-head automatic embroidery machine with sublimation printing laser cutting system facilities.
The Chairman PSGMEA was of the opinion that Embroidery and Printing machine is addition in Sialkot and a step towards modernization adding that the business community engaged with sports goods industry would be benefited with its regular functioning. He further stated that we are making strenuous efforts to motivate the exporters and manufacturers engaged with sports goods industry that they should concentrate on up-grading their workplaces. The basic concept of these efforts was to enable the business community to cope with fast changing trends of the international market.
At present the trends of world market are changing fast and under the circumstances we should focus attention on modernization of industrial units for bringing innovation and to improve the standard of the products for competing world market he said.
The Chairman further stated that without adopting modern technology we are unable to compete in the world market. Under the prevailing situation the government should provide soft loans to SMEs enabling to upgrade their workplaces.
