While responding to the repeated requests made on the subject, the Federal Employees Benevolent & Group Insurance Funds management had informed vide their letter No. 7/PM/Estab. Div (Matters)/Coord/17 (P-2), dated 11th June, 2018 that an actuary study was under way and that different proposals for payments out of Group Insurance Fund at the time of retirement were under consideration. However, despite lapse of over one year's time, no progress in the matter has come out.
The federal government is expected to play a leading role in respect of small provinces such as Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to carry out necessary legislation for admissibility of group insurance money to the retiring federal government employees. But the Federal Employees Benevolent & Group Insurance Funds management has not so far come up with a positive response in this matter.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan is therefore, requested to kindly ask the Establishment Division the controlling authority of Federal Employees Benevolent & Group Insurance Funds management to proceed for amending the relevant law/rules on the subject to enable the federal government employees to draw their group insurance money like the provincial employees of Balochistan and KPK mentioned above.
