National Highways and Motorway Police Sunday seized non-custom paid goods worth Rs 10 million and arrested the accused who were trying to smuggle the goods to Punjab. According to the spokesperson of motorway police, the container was capsized on the motorway when it was travelling from Peshawar to Lahore due to the failure of breaks.
Apparently, the container was empty but during the rescue operations, the motorway police staff found non-custom paid goods in its secret section. He said as many as 70 Window Air Conditioner, 13 cotton Mobile Phones, 13 Dish digital device, 24 bundled sealed Paper sheet, 75 bundle of Men and women's clothes rolls were recovered from secret boxes. The driver and helper were apprehended on the spot and handed over to the authorities for further legal proceedings.
