A passenger erroneously opened the emergency door of the flight PK 702 of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) causing the emergency slide to activate at Manchester airport. According to details, the flight PK 702 of PIA for the sector Manchester to Islamabad was delayed by 7 hours. The incident occurred on Friday night at Manchester airport when a passenger erroneously opened the emergency door causing the emergency slide to activate.
The flight operated with a delay of 7 hours. As per standard operating procedure PIA had to offload nearly 40 passengers and their luggage. All passengers were provided dinner. The off-loaded passengers were provided transportation and hotel accommodation and will be adjusted on the next available flight.
The flight operated with multiple crews and there was no shortage of crew and was as per Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority regulations. CEO PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik has ordered an inquiry of the incident.
