The camping pods and tented villages setup by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) has attracted huge number of tourists in Hazara and Malakand regions during Eidul Fitr holidays. The tourists were provided quality accommodations facilities in the 2-4bed camping pods and tented villages in scores of tourist attractive places and resorts, including Bishigram (Swat), Shogran (Mansehra), Thandiani (Abbottabad), Yakh Tangai (Shangla) and Sheikhbadin (Lakki Marwat) respectively at affordable charges.
The camping pods in remote scenic spots have remained highly successful where best accommodations facilitates were provided to thousands of tourists families at minimum rates compare to private hotels. The pods were set up in all those tourists' spots where hotels and motels were not available.
The Managing Director (MD) TCKP, Junaid Khan has attributed the visiting of the large number of tourist to restoration of peace and tourism friendly policies of the provincial government. He said that the lash green valleys, waterfalls, snow covered mountains peaks, rivers, natural beauty of the province are making them the preferable destination for the foreign as well as domestic tourists and adventure lovers. He claimed that more than two million tourists have visited the tourist spots during Eid holidays.
The TCKP has identified more than 25 new tourists' sites mostly in Hazara and Malakand regions that would be linked with the Swat Expressway and Hazara Motorway to reduce load on existing tourist sites in the province.
