The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has taken strong exception over the arrest of Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz and slammed the ruling PTI government as well as NAB. A group of the PML-N activists staged a demonstration near GPO chowk after the arrest of Hamza by a NAB team. The protestors blocked the road which caused suspension in smooth flow of traffic. This caused hardship to the people. The protestors chanted slogans against the PTI government as well as NAB. They also expressed solidarity with Hamza Shahbaz. Earlier, PML-N Farzana Butt had a scuffle with police officials when they stopped to move towards Hamza on the LHC premises.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has blamed the NAB for crossing all limits by following the instructions of 'puppet PM'. In a series of tweets Maryam said the PML-N will continue to raise voice despite all the tactics by incompetent PM and his fake government. "Jails are neither new for Hamza nor for any other leader in the party," she added.
Maryam encouraged Hamza Shahbaz for standing fearlessly. She claimed that the so-called 'puppet show' is about to end. "You (PM) cannot hide yourself from the anger of the general masses by distracting them with detentions of the opposition leaders ahead of your historic failures like budget and economic survey," she said. She further said that no one can save this stumbling government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) by carrying out the arrests.
Marriyum Aurangzeb in her reaction said that Hamza's counsels were not given the required documents during proceedings in the court. Terming the cases against the PML-N leaders as the worst form of political revenge, she said the PM Khan, while working on some unknown agenda, has crippled Pakistan's economy in 10 months.
Another PML-N leader Malik Ahmed Khan said the government cannot stop the PML-N from raising the voice of people. He said the APC is being called by Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the PML-N would follow all its decisions. He said the PTI government is targeting opposition leaders just to divert people's attention from its failures.
It may be noted that Hamza is facing trial in Ramazan Sugar Mills, money laundering and assets beyond means cases. On the other hand, provincial Information and Culture Minister Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari said that Hamza Shahbaz tried his level best to escape from the clutches of law by hiding under the shadow of law. He said the provocative behavior of the PML-N workers is deplorable as there is no logic of such agitation against the court decisions. Hamza Shahbaz should face legal process and the PML-N should educate its workers about this reality. He made it clear that action will be initiated if anybody tried to take law in his hand.
The minister said both PML-N and PPP are hiding their corruption in the guise of agitation. The PML-N should rather distribute sweats on the arrest of Asif Zardari and added that the PPP will face the same public response in Sindh which it faced in Punjab, he added.
