Former President Asif Ali Zardari who is currently in custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was on Thursday taken to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) for medical check up. Source said that NAB official shifted him to RIC after his condition worsened in NAB's custody. The medics at the facility checked his sugar level, blood pressure and conducted his angiography as well as other necessary tests, they said.
According to an official statement issued by NAB, the accused Zardari is being taking care by NAB as two medical boards have been constituted comprising medics of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Polyclinic hospitals.
The medical boards are examining him on daily basis. The health condition of the accused is good and the visit was for routine medical check up on the advice of medical boards. Media is requested to kindly avoid speculations. The NAB had arrested Zardari in fake bank accounts case on Monday last after a bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected a plea filed by him and his sister Faryal Talpur after the duo sought an extension in their interim bail.
