Arms smuggler with 50 rifles held in Peshawar

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Squad has recovered arms and ammunition from a car and arrested its driver in the jurisdiction of Pishtakhara Police Station. Officials of the department said that on a tip off they stopped a vehicle on Ring road and recovered 50 rifles and 100 magazines from car.
The alleged accused Qaiser Sarfaraz, a resident of Shahdara Lahore, confessed that he was smuggling weapons from Darra Adam Khel to Punjab. A case has been registered at Pishtakhara police station and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, a team of excise department intelligence EIB-4 under supervision of provincial incharge, Syed Naveed Jamal, EIB-4 incharge Mohammad Riaz and additional incharge Azlan Aslam on a tip off stopped a passenger coach and seized 5 kilogram charas.
The culprit identified as Afghan citizen Ali Khan. The case has been registered in police station Katlang district Mardan. Meanwhile, at least 11 suspected persons were arrested during search operations in different areas of Peshawar.
Police said that among them were two Afghan nationals living in the area without legal documents. Arms and ammunition, besides two kilogram hashish were also recovered from them.
