Chief Coordinator Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Ijaz A. Khokhar has suggested that government should focus on establishing "Divisional Level" task force for bringing radical changes in export sector of country.
Talking to Business Recorder here on Friday he said that establishment of divisional level task force will help government in ascertaining basic needs of industries exists at district level. The PRGMEA Coordinator stressed upon the government to depute special teams for conducting survey of the industrial sector at district and divisional across the country for assessing the requirements' of each industry of existed in district of divisional level. The study of special teams will help government in formulating sector wise future policies he said.
Ijaz pointed that Sialkot basically is a city of SMEs with different type of industries with different industrial needs as compared to Gujranwala and Gujrat. Ijaz said that the future policies should be prepared in the light of the study of special task force adding that study of the task force will help in attracting foreign and local investment value- addition sectors and generate large scale employment for skilled and semi skilled workforce. It is high time that government should take effective steps for making the value-added textile industry competitive and vibrant in global markets in this regard he underscored the need of exploring non-conventional international markets for bring big boost in export volume of the country he said.
There was a wide communication gap between the government and the stakeholders as a result of miseries of business community multiplied and exports are downtrend and under the current circumstances there was a need of reducing gap; he was of opinion. He underscored the need of reducing the tariff of electricity and gas to facilitate SMEs because under the present scenario the cost of doing business had been increased to many folds. Expressing the hop he said that government will consider on our suggestions for the larger national interest as well as for bringing revolutionary changes in export sector for enhancing the export volume.
