The Embassy of Sweden hosted a reception on the occasion of the National Day of Sweden. Ambassador of Sweden Ingrid Johansson welcomed the government dignitaries, diplomats, businessmen and others at the reception hosted here at a hotel on Friday.
In her address, Ambassador of Sweden Ingrid Johansson thanked staff of the embassy and 14 Swedish companies for co-hosting the reception.
She said, "Our partners including government, civil society, media, world leading Swedish companies and our embassy staff are key partners to share a sustainable future of Sweden and Pakistan." She maintained that Swedish companies active in Pakistan were providing sustainable solution to Pakistani market.
Minister of State for States and Frontier Regions Shehryar Khan Afridi was the chief guest. National anthems of both countries were also played on the occasion.
Ingrid Johansson also announced that guests would get a chance to win smartphones through lottery tickets distributed free of cost. At the end of entertainment, smartphones were distributed among the lucky winners.
Some Swedish leading companies including Olpers/Prema Milk have also established stalls in the reception.
One Kamran Khan told Business Recorder that the companies have imported equipment and technology from Swedish and milk products are prepared as per standards of Sweden. He said the company has 15 percent share in total milk market of the country. Other companies including Synavos, Munters, Synergy are providing IT solutions to government entities and industries in Pakistan.The guests were served with beverages and food.
