APPSF slams government for not establishing paramedical council

All-Pakistan Paramedical Staff Federation (APPSF) has criticized the federal government for not establishing paramedical council and non-acceptance of their other demands. According to a press statement issued here on Saturday, in this connection an emergency meeting of federation was held at PIMS hospital Islamabad. The meeting was presided over by Sharafatullah Yousafzai. Central President Malak Yousaf, Secretary General Arshid Khan, Former President Saraj-ud-Din Baki and other paramedic's federation leaders addressed the meeting.
Speakers said that paramedics are spinal cord of health sector and included in majority of the category in health sector and 80 percent of work in health sector is done by paramedics but despite of this the current government ignored it. Speakers said that establishment of paramedical council is the long-term demand of paramedic.
They added that in former government former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abassi approved Paramedical Council from the cabinet for legislation but the current government did not take any action in this connection so far. Speakers said that government has established PMDC for doctors, nursing council for nurses, homeopathic council for homeopathic doctors, Tab council for Hakims and Pharmacy council for Pharmacists but there is no proper council for paramedics. They added that paramedics have been deprived from paramedical council.
