Necessary homework for a new state-of-the-art 400-beeded 'Mother and Child Hospital' has been completed and NESPAK have offered volunteer services for the construction of this hospital, Punjab health minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid, said.
While chairing a meeting, here Saturday, the Punjab health minister reviewed all issues regarding feasibility and other ancillary matters concerning this hospital. "We are taking steps to decrease the mortality rate of mother and children during delivery as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan," she said, adding: "Medical facilities of international standard will be ensured in this hospital."
She said that decrease in mortality rate of mother and child is need of the hour and this hospital will prove role model for other provinces as well. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Aamir Zaman, Medical Superintendent Ganga Ram Hospital Fayyaz Butt and NESPAK officers were also present.
Moreover, in another meeting, the Punjab health minister reviewed construction of King Edward Medical University at Muridke, administrative functions of Punjab Blood Transfusion Authority, redressal of complaints on Pakistan Citizens Portal and progress on ongoing development projects in different government hospitals of Punjab.
Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Momin Agha, Special Secretary Muzaffar Sial, Additional Secretary Rafaqat Ali, Additional Secretary Salman Shahid and other officers attended the meeting. Dr Yasmeen Rashid directed that complaints regarding medical facilities in government hospitals received on Pakistan Citizens Portal should be redressed promptly.
Ongoing development projects undertaken in different government hospitals of Punjab should also be completed within the stipulated period of time. She directed that provision of best medical facilities to the patients in government hospitals should also be ensured. She claimed that common man has been provided considerable relief through "Health Insaf Card".
