Parliamentary panel considers five bills

A parliamentary panel Tuesday considered five bills submitted by members belonging to different political parties from both the opposition and treasury benches. The National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice, which met here with MNA Riaz Fatyana in the chair, considered the bills and deferred all of them till its next meeting. The Legal Practitioner and Bar Councils (Amendment) Bill 2018, moved by MNA Aliya Kamran, was discussed and deferred till next meeting due to non-availability of the mover.
The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (Amendment in Articles 1, 51, 59, 106, 154, 175A, 198 and 218) moved by MNA Rana Sanaullah was discussed in detail and deferred till next meeting due to non-availability of mover as he is currently in the custody of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for his alleged involvement in drug smuggling. The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (Amendment in Articles 1, 51, 59, 106, 175A and 218), moved by Ali Khan Jadoon MNA, also came under discussion. The committee recommended that that the bill may be deferred till the next meeting.
