Announcing the initiative of issuing property documents through 24 commercial banks along with 'arazi' centres across the province, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Tuesday said the decision was taken to further ease the process of obtaining property documents. The banks would be given access to the digital land record nnder the service-level agreement between the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) and 24 commercial banks.
The CM chaired a high-level meeting of the PLRA at his office here on Tuesday in which decision was taken. The chief minister maintained that commercial banks would also verify the property documents and the people will be able to get their property documents through commercial banks. "Farmers will be facilitated to get loans from commercial banks as they had to visit banks and arazi centres again and again for this purpose," he said, adding: "Under this system, provision of loans will be ensured to the farmers within three days."
The CM directed that effective monitoring mechanism should be devised under the new system and provision of loans to farmers should be ensured within the prescribed time. He said the decision of releasing the property documents through commercial banks is a milestone, which will facilitate the people. Separate counters will be set up in banks for the release of ownership deeds and this would enhance the scope of services.
More initiatives will be introduced for providing relief to the people..., he added. Provincial Revenue Minister Malik Muhammad Anwar, Punjab Land Record Authority chairman Sardar Ahmad Ali Dreshak, SMBR, Secretary Finance, DG Punjab Land Record Authority, the representative from State Bank and others attended the meeting.
