A seemingly beleaguered opposition has decided to move a no-confidence motion in the Senate on July 9 for the removal of Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani; however, it failed to forge consensus on Sanjrani's replacement.
It has also decided to observe July 25 as 'black day' to challenge the legitimacy of the 2018 general elections. It is interesting to note that while PML-N and JUI-F are strident in their opposition to Senate chairman Sanjrani, PPP appears to be somehow ambivalent although it too has demanded Sanjrani's removal. Despite its recent conclave where it appointed JUI-F's Durrani to head the Rahbar Committee, the opposition unfortunately presents the sorry spectacles of a divided house.
