Video won't help provide any relief to Nawaz: Farogh

Federal Minister of Law Farogh Naseem said on Saturday that the video Maryam Nawaz has brought to the fore would not help her father Nawaz Sharif to get any relief in the case. He said this in a statement which he issued in reaction to the video which featured Nasir Butt purportedly talking to Accountability Judge Arshad Malik.
He said Butt is the PMLN's man. Farogh asked if they had that video, why they didn't produce it before the court. He asserted that Nawaz Sharif would not get anything from the video. He cited that such video is presented before a court of law prior to the pronouncement of a verdict. He said the judge Arshad Malik is an honest and responsible man.
The minister questioned whether the Sharif family's London flats and other things, which resulted in conviction of the former premier, would lose their importance after emergence of the video. "Does the London flats issue die merely due to saying that then, the judge was under pressure," he asked. Earlier, Maryam Nawaz had showed reporters a video in which accountability court judge Arshad Malik can be heard saying that there was "no proof of corruption against the deposed premier" in the Al-Azizia reference.
