Sonam Kapoor is one of the Bollywood celebs who strongly supports #MeToo movement and who has always been outspoken on such matters. However, she has refused to believe sexual harassment allegations on director Rajkumar Hirani.

Hirani was associated as a co-producer of Sonam’s recent release ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ but his name was dropped after an article in HuffPost India claimed that he had sexually abused an assistant on the sets of ‘Sanju’.

Sonam too was part of Hirani’s ‘Sanju’. Speaking about allegations against him, she said, "I am a huge supporter of the #MeToo movement and this is a very important question. In the MeToo movement, I always believed a woman. But in this case, we need to reserve our judgment”.

“I know Raju Hirani very well, I have known him for many years and I have huge respect for him as a filmmaker and as a man. I think we all should reserve judgement and be very responsible before we say anything more on this subject. Because we don't need to derail this movement,” Sonam added.

After her statement, she has been receiving a lot of criticism from the fans about her feminist stance. People have been accusing her of hypocrisy and double standards.
