President of Markazi Tanzeem Tajiran Pakistan (MTTP), Kashif Chaudhry has rejecting tax policies and announced a country-wide shutter down token strike on July 13. Addressing press conference at Karachi Press Club, he urged traders to make this strike successful.
He said that more than 400 representatives of city trade bodies have assured full support to strike call, including trader bodies of Tariq Road, Clifton, Defence, Liaquatbad, M A Jinnah Road, Gul Plaza, furniture markets, iron market, electronic markets, car dealers, property dealers, etc. .
He added the traders would go on an indefinite strike if the government still paid no heed to their demands after the strike.
He said that government is not ready to listen to the traders due to which trading community was worried while people were also facing inflation.
Kashif said that shutter down strike would be against the tax measures, complicated income tax procedure, different slabs of taxes, investigation powers, condition of CNIC, in the budget.
